this article explores the main conceptual metaphors of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, which emphasize their importance both in the context of literary studies and linguistics. The study of the role of language actualizing imagination in Alice in Wonderland highlights how metaphors can both limit and expand our perception of text as a human experience in general. Thanks to the imagination of the reader and the characters, metaphors become a powerful tool for creating multi-layered interpretations and new insights into concepts that at first glance may seem absurd or untrustworthy. The relevance of this problem is confirmed by the factors of language inconsistency with reality. There are a lot of paradoxes and illogical situations in Alice in Wonderland that challenge traditional linguistic concepts. Studying metaphors in this context allows for a deeper understanding of how language can distort the perception of reality and how imagination serves as a tool to overcome these boundaries. The purpose of this article is to analyze the metaphorical constructions in Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland and identify their role in shaping the boundaries of language and imagination, as well as their influence on the perception and interpretation of the text in the context of cultural factors. In connection with this goal, it is necessary to solve the following tasks: 1. To study metaphorical constructions in the text. 2. To explore how metaphors can serve as boundaries of language and at the same time expand its possibilities for expressing complex ideas and emotions. 3. To analyze how imagination helps to overcome these boundaries and creates new semantic constructions. 4. To investigate the impact of the metaphor of "Alice in Wonderland" on perception and interpretation when translated into Russian.
