Abstract
this article is written on an interesting and important topic for teaching a foreign (English) language. We would like to note right away that the following points attract us in the presented work. Firstly, the naked eye can see a close connection to modernity, which in itself is significant. This is evident both from the introduction to the article and is quite noticeable throughout the critical analysis. Secondly, although briefly, the meaning of the teaching methodology of the subject studied by the author is succinctly and concisely explained. Thirdly, the six main stages of the development and further improvement of the written language of children of this age are described in sufficient detail here. Each stage is dedicated to the demonstration of the teacher’s skill. All the material is subordinated to this key idea. Fourthly, the article successfully combines some theoretical provisions that correspond to such related disciplines as methods of teaching English in general, the pedagogical process and psychology. It is instructive that they are given as a confirmation of one or another idea expressed by the author. Finally, we note that the article proposed for consideration and discussion has not only theoretical, but also a certain practical significance. So, conditionally it can be divided into two equal parts. The first one provides a theoretical justification of the topic; the second one offers exercises in English. In addition, the first part deals with the main stages of the development and improvement of writing in lessons for students in grades 5-6.
