Abstract
this article presents a study devoted to the study of the level of anxiety in graduating students of comprehensive schools. A very common and debilitating psycho-emotional state, characterized by low self-esteem, anxiety, internal tension, possibly suicidal tendencies and self-destructive behavior, as a consequence – depression. The authors consider its definition, symptoms, prevalence and impact on the quality of life of adolescents and senior school students. The study involved 165 graduating students of the Municipal Budgetary Educational Institution Secondary School No. 30 in Yakutsk. Questionnaires, testing, and interviews were used to collect data. The Spielberger-Khanin Anxiety Scale and the Beck Anxiety Scale were used as tools for assessing anxiety. The Beck Depression Inventory developed by A.T. Beck and the Spielberger-Khanin Anxiety Scale developed by Charles Spielberger and Leonid Khanin were used. These methods allow for differential measurement of anxiety both as a personality trait and as a condition associated with the current situation. The results of the study showed that a high level of anxiety is observed in a significant portion of graduates; anxiety is associated with perfectionism, fear of failure, etc. Significant correlations were found between anxiety levels and academic performance, self-esteem, and social support. The data obtained allow us to conclude that it is necessary to develop and implement psychological support programs for graduates aimed at reducing anxiety levels and increasing stress resistance. The results of the study can be used by teachers, psychologists and parents to provide timely assistance to graduates during the period of preparation for exams and adaptation to new stages of life.
