Organizing group work of postgraduate students to solve the problem of translating professional terminology

this article formulates the basic requirements for organizing students group work in English language classes at the postgraduate level. Group work is one of the most effective ways to address a key issue that arises when postgraduates are introduced to authentic texts in English: the translation of professional terminology. The goal of the study is to develop specialized exercises for group work, including exercises on vocabulary, cognates and polysemantic words, definitions, interlingual homonyms, word compatibility. The proposed tasks enable students to master the basic methods and techniques of terminology translation necessary for understanding foreign-language materials. Group work improves the quality of the final result and, through student interaction, promotes a deeper understanding of the texts they are studying.
