Abstract
the article analyzes the features of the organization of specialized scientific technical texts and the associated difficulties in learning technical English by bachelor's and master's students of a technical university. In the context of a technical university, the use of English as a tool for developing professional competence in a specific area of students' scientific knowledge is of particular interest. The purpose of the article is to analyze the features of the structure and content of specialized scientific technical texts, as well as to identify the problems that bachelor's and master's students face when learning technical English, and to find ways to solve them. The article provides a description of specialized scientific technical texts, their types, functions and features. The study is based on theoretical research and practical experience gained in the process of teaching a foreign language to first-year bachelor's and first-year master's students at a technical university - National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute". As a result, methods and techniques were identified that can stimulate the development of skills in working with scientific technical texts among bachelor's and master's students when studying technical English, and practical examples of their implementation are given. Conclusions are made about the need for a targeted approach and regular practice using the above methods and techniques. Prospects for further research are set.
