Abstract
art museums can play a vital role in teaching literacy with art as the core, and children's aesthetic education is the core of aesthetic education. Nowadays, art museums have gradually attracted the attention of education policymakers and researchers in China. In comparison, in countries and regions with advanced Western education, the cooperation between art museums and primary and middle schools has become relatively mature after a long-term development and has been integrated into the national education system. This paper discusses the process and main forms of cooperation between Western art museums and primary and middle schools at different historical stages, combines relevant literature and practical data, and then puts forward relevant enlightenment based on the current development status of Chinese children's art education.
