Abstract
the article is devoted to the problem of studying the value-semantic orientations of the personality of cadets of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system. Cadets associate their lives with law enforcement service. What motivates a person and how ready are young people to pursue a morally challenging profession? The purpose of the study is to identify the degree of consistency of the value-semantic orientations of the cadets' personality with the chosen profession. The research methodology is based on the theoretical concept of value orientations developed by scientists M. Rokich and S. Schwartz. For a more detailed study, the value-semantic orientations in the study are divided into value and life-meaning orientations. The following methods were chosen to study value orientations: M. Rokich "Value orientations", S. Schwartz "Value questionnaire". D.A. Leontiev's method "Semantic orientations" was used to study semantic orientations. The data obtained has been subjected to statistical processing. The results of the study showed that the value-semantic orientations of the cadets' personalities have a number of features that help them achieve success in their chosen profession. Taking into account the degree of consistency of a person's value and semantic orientations will help with career guidance, professional selection, and the choice of an individual educational trajectory.
