The chronotope of war and the motif of lost childhood in the stories of Heinrich B?ll «Stranger, Bear Word to the Spartans We...», «The Baleks Scales»

the purpose of the article is to study the chronotope of the war and the related motif of lost childhood in H. B?ll's stories «Stranger, Bear Word to the Spartans We...», «The Baleks Scales », to identify individual authorial features and artistic means of expressing the spatial model in the writer's works. The conducted research has shown that a distinctive feature of the chronotope is its time plan, which reveals a live stream of time (war and post-war). The interpretative analysis reveals the chronotope in the form of a number of binary oppositions: present / past, peacetime / wartime, movement / immobility, limitation / boundlessness, etc., which represent the structural basis for building the artistic whole of the writer's stories and help express the conflict between the worlds depicted in them – the world of the main character, a child soldier. and its antagonists are the «others». The chronotope in the writer's stories is also revealed as a means of understanding the most important morals.
