Abstract

this article explores the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies on the modern education system. The theoretical review conducted demonstrates that the use of artificial intelligence in education opens up new opportunities for modernizing educational practices, particularly as a source of information, a tool for personalizing learning, and a means of supporting academic research. However, the author points out a number of potential threats associated with the spread of inaccurate and distorted information, the replacement of human teachers with AI systems, breaches of confidentiality, and the emergence of ethical dilemmas. Special attention is paid to the problem of increasing social inequality and decreasing the quality of education under the influence of artificial intelligence technologies. The danger of students developing dependence on AI tools is noted, which can negatively affect the development of their cognitive abilities and motivation to learn. Based on the analysis of scientific publications, the main directions for addressing the identified risks are proposed.
