Teacher training for secondary vocational education: the challenges of time

in this article, the authors examine the problems inherent in modern secondary vocational education, including the challenges of the time related to the training of pedagogical personnel for secondary vocational education. The article discusses the directions of the Strategy for the Development of the System of Training Workers and the Formation of Applied Qualifications in the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030, and their substantive disclosure in the context of the tasks facing the secondary vocational education system. The issues of training teachers for the secondary vocational education system have been updated in terms of training in fundamentally new specialties: as part of targeted training or "Professionalism" as an innovative form of targeted personnel training; inclusion of training of pedagogical personnel for technical schools and colleges in industry-specific institutes; revision of the numbers of budgetary enrollment in outdated specialties; ensuring the continuity of development and improvement of pedagogical personnel for secondary vocational education. The following parameters have been identified to address the shortage of teaching staff in secondary vocational education: the introduction of new specialties in training, targeted education, the use of the "Professionalism" program, the revision of recruitment for traditional specialties and budgetary places, cross-sectoral integration, and the continuous development and improvement of teaching staff.
