The specifics of intersemiotic transformations (based on cinematic and computer game implementation of «The Witcher Saga»)

the article is devoted to the transformations that accompany the intersemiotic translation of literature into polymodal communication. The empirical base is made up of «The Witcher Saga» by A. Sapkowski, two film series and a computer game. The comparative analysis of the factual material reveals the following trends. Cinematic implementation depends on the contacting linguacultures (native Polish in a small extent and unrelated American), on the technological capabilities of film production, on the target audience forecast. Transformations in film texts are optional and implement adaptation (in the Polish project) and appropriation (in the American one) with no alternative linear development of the plot. Transformations in game implementation have a more objective – conventional – character with alternative plot.
