Abstract

the article examines the value-based meanings of the concept SUSTAINABLE FASHION within contemporary media discourse. The aim of the study is to identify, describe, and systematize the value meanings of the concept SUSTAINABLE FASHION in modern English-language media discourse through a linguoaxiological analysis of its linguistic representation. The research hypothesis posits that the concept SUSTAINABLE FASHION functions as a regulative concept in contemporary media discourse, with its semantic content predominantly shaped by a value component expressed primarily through ethical and utilitarian types of evaluation. The study employs an integrated methodological approach, combining methods of linguoaxiology, discourse analysis, and componential analysis. The findings may be applicable in teaching courses in linguistics, intercultural communication, ecolinguistics, and media studies, contributing to the development of students’ critical thinking in the context of current global challenges.
