Abstract
The article describes an MA degree holder in Linguistics as a specialist who is able to work with texts and as a scientist who is proficient enough to hold independent research, supervise scientific work of BA students, publish scientific articles in Russian and foreign languages. It is stressed that in context of internationalization of science special attention is to be paid to teaching future Masters in Linguistics to initiate and maintain academic communication in English with a special focus on written academic writing.
