The choice of surgical treatment of atherosclerotic carotids impairments in patients with high surgical risk

Abstract

The comparative analysis of the outcome results and follow-ups of treatment of the patients with atherosclerotic carotid stenoses in groups of high surgical risk is carried out. Comparative methods of surgical treatment were carotid angioplasty with stenting (CAS) and carotid endarterectomy (CEE). The patients undergone carotids surgical procedure (during the period of 2007-2010) were included in the research. The obtained treatment results of the carotids stenosis impairments testify to safety and high efficiency carotid angioplasty with stenting.
