Abstract
The article deals with the problems of graphologic, linguistic and textual analysis of Dostoevsky’s manuscripts. The material for the study is the notebook (1868–1869, F. 212.1.7 RGALI), which contains personal notes as well as those related to the creative process, including drafts of the novel “The Idiot” and unaccomplished intentions of the author. The method of textual studying of Dostoevsky’s drafts, based on graphics, spelling, punctuation peculiarities of the text, is demonstrated in the article. The proposed approach to the analysis depends on a comprehensive study of the formal and substantive characteristics of the material. It allows researchers not only to restore unread (incorrectly read) fragments of manuscripts, but also to reconstruct the evolution of the writer’s creative process due to the consistency of the received data, to clarify the dates of the notes, to reveal new facts of creative history of Dostoevsky literary works.
