Аннотация

The article is devoted to the correlation of the universal and the ehtnospecific in language. The article suggests that the concept of «family» is one of universal concepts in language view of the world, whereas metaphor as a bearer of figurative, secondary meaning assumes purely ethnospecific character. The present research is devoted to the corresponding language representation of the metaphoric concept of «family» and its constituent components in English and American ehtnocultures. The analysis made demonstrates that the metaphor of family is less frequent in British political speech, whereas in American rhetoric it is more frequent and more varied, which is explained by the corresponding values of American society.
