Building Bridges: Psi Chi and International Psychology
Resumo
“How can Psi Chi best partner with international psychologists to expand the honor society world-wide?” This has been an important question since 2009, when the 1,100 chapters of Psi Chi in the United States voted to become “The International Honor Society in Psychology”. This report updates and expands on a unique symposium offered at the 120th meeting of the American Psychological Association in Orlando, Florida, in August of 2012 - the first symposium on the Presidential theme of “Building Bridges” between Psi Chi and international psychology [8]. Here, seven leaders in international psychology in North and South America join to address different aspects of this timely question--with many suggestions on how to “build bridges” to expand Psi Chi globally. It was in part due to this historic symposium that in 2013 Guatemala became the first nation in Latin America, and Russia the first nation in mainland Europe to launch a chapter of Psi Chi.

The article presents the data characterizing the reserves of the integration of curricular and extracurricular classes in forming the experience of cross-cultural interaction in students. The main directions, techniques, tools and forms of working with students as well as the conditions of effective forming the cross-cultural interaction experience in students with the integration of curricular and extracurricular classes are revealed.

Imitation as Factor of Developing Higher Abilities in Children: Resource Approach
Resumo
The phenomenon of “imitation” in children is analyzed. The possibility of the use of imitation for development of higher abilities (mostly creative) in children is studied. Based on the resource approach, it is proposed to consider imitation as a factor that activates the hidden resources: creative, spiritual (moral value aspect), self-regulative in the early school years.

The Relationship between Organizational Culture and Employees’ Job Motivation

The main goal of research is job motivation level and organization culture type dependence analysis in the context of recruitment and employee appraisal professionals. A significant influence of the clan, adhocratic, and bureaucratic type of organizational culture on the level of work motivation of employees was found.

Formation of Human Subjectivity in Psychological Interactions with Nature

The article outlines the current trends in the environmental psychological research of the peculiarities of developing the subject-subjective human relationship with nature: considering human habitat environment as a set of natural objects; studying certain natural sites as psychologically attributive elements of the environment; determining the psychological meaning of the «Human Habitat Environment»; giving the analysis of the problem of the subjectivity development in human interaction with the natural objects.

Psychological Characteristics of Personality in Students with Learning Difficulties

The article presents the research of the psychological characteristics of the personality of a student with learning difficulties from the position of the mismatch of mental development in operational sphere. The article considers the system of methods of research with the personality-oriented approach. The influence of certain psychological characteristics of a personality on the outcome of the study is revealed. The ways of building correctional-developing programmes for psychological preparation of junior schoolchildren for successful learning are shown.
