Perception of photographed faces of people of different races

Abstract

Psychological structures of interpersonal perception of people of different races were studied. It is demonstrated that: (a) about one half of judgments about individual psychological features of photographed persons may be accurate; (b) when faces of North Russian type are perceived by Russian spectators, more efficient are judgments about individual psychological features witch model and spectator share; and (c) when faces of Austroasiatic type are perceived, Russian spectators more often show mechanisms of projection and attribution.
