Peer Review Process

Double anonymous peer review is implemented. There must be at least two reviewers. The review is carried out by members of the editorial board and external experts who are specialists in the subject area of the article being analyzed.

The review is carried out in 2 stages.

At the first stage, the editors check:

  • the article's compliance with the profile of the journal;
  • the uniqueness of the submitted manuscript;
  • the structure of the article complies with the established requirements;
  • compliance with the requirements for formulas, tables, figures and other forms of graphical presentation of information;
  • compliance of the list of sources with the established requirements;
  • the correctness of the output data of the sources presented in the text and footnote bibliographic references, as well as the availability of sources online.

If a discrepancy with the established requirements is found, the article is returned for revision. The contact author is sent recommendations for correcting the article.

At the second stage, the editors organize double anonymous peer review.

Principles of article review:

  • assessment of the article's compliance with the passport of the declared scientific specialty;
  • assessment of the article's compliance with the current level of problem development;
  • assessment of the completeness of the disclosure of the topic of the scientific article;
  • assessment of the methodological apparatus and (or) methodological tools of the study;
  • assessment of the novelty of the obtained scientific results and the validity of the conclusions;
  • assessment of the quality of the analysis of literature on the topic of the study;
  • assessment of the scientific language, logic and style of presentation.

These principles are used to develop criteria for analyzing the article.

In the final part of the review, the expert formulates his decision:

  • the article is recommended for publication;
  • the article requires minor revision and can be recommended for publication without re-reviewing;
  • the article requires revision and re-reviewing;
  • the article is not recommended for publication.

In the second and third cases, the responsible secretary of the editorial board of the journal sends an anonymous version of the review text to the contact author with a proposal to take into account the reviewers' recommendations when revising the article or to refute them (or some of them) with arguments.

In the third case, the revised (reworked) article is re-submitted for review. No more than two rounds of review are envisaged.

An article not recommended for publication by the reviewers will not be accepted for re-examination.

If there are positive reviews, the article is prepared for publication by the editors, including scientific editing and literary editing, finalizing the list of sources in the "Literature" and "References" sections, coordinating the edits with the authors, proofreading the layout, and coordinating the article layout with the authors.

Anti-plagiarism policy

All articles submitted to the editorial board of the journal "Intellect. Innovations. Investments" are checked for plagiarism and determination of the originality of the text in several stages.

At the first stage, the text of the article is checked for plagiarism in the Antiplagiat.VUZ system.

At the second stage, an expert assessment of the uniqueness of the text is carried out based on the analysis of the full report of the Antiplagiat.VUZ system, as well as the analysis of tables, figures and other graphic information presented in the article.

The articles under consideration must not contain plagiarism and self-plagiarism.

From the point of view of the editors of the journal, plagiarism is the following:
- the use of any materials in any volume without indicating their source;
- the use of tables, figures, photographs and other forms of graphic presentation of information without indicating the source (authorship);
- the use of materials whose copyright holders prohibit the use of their materials without special approval, without their written permission.

The citation rate depends on the genre of the article, but, as a rule, it should not exceed 30%. Review articles, as well as articles that require a larger number of citations for objective reasons, are considered by the editors of the journal on an individual basis.

Self-citation is allowed within reasonable limits, provided that references to all sources used are correctly formatted. As a rule, this figure should not exceed 30%.

Self-citation is possible in the introduction, literature review, description of methods and techniques used to obtain the results.

If the results obtained were first published at a conference, then self-citation is possible in the following order: conference materials - scientific article. In this case, the article abstract should report this fact, indicating the name of the conference, date and place of its holding. It is desirable to place a bibliographic description of the conference materials in the text or footnote bibliographic references.

Citation and self-citation in the final part of the article is not allowed. The presented results must be new.

The indicator of incorrectly formatted matches must be less than 10%.

The article's originality index depends on the article's genre and the justification of citation and self-citation. On average, it should be at least 80%.

The next stage involves identifying technical methods that artificially increase the originality of the manuscript text. If these methods are identified, the manuscript is removed from consideration and is not subject to revision.

If the expert assessment of the manuscript's uniqueness results in a negative decision, the editors notify the contact author, send an expert report generated in the Antiplagiat.VUZ system and a list of materials from which the main illegal borrowings were made.

The review period is approximately one month.
