The problem of spreading of the plastic layer consisting of different environments

Abstract

The paper presents application of the theory of flow of the plastic layer between approaching surfaces of the tool body, modeling the processes of forming and molding of thin-walled structural elements. Within the simplified statement a boundary-value problem of the flow of a thin plastic layer shaped region composed of two different environments is formulated. The authors provide the precise solution of the problem with respect to the flow velocity and contact pressure. They derived the evolution equation for determining of the boundaries of spreading plastic layer. It is shown that the boundary wedge areas remain straight.
