Abstract
The article considers theoretical bases of international competitiveness and a modern assessment methods, the role of the state in solving problems of international competitiveness. Analyzes the rankings of competitiveness of countries in the world in 2014-2015. Explores the problems hindering the growth of competitiveness of the Russian economy as well as competitive advantages of Russia.
