The paper deals with the methodology and significance of teaching English for specific purposes (ESP) to students of pharmaceutical university. The aim of the study is to develop the methodology of teaching English for specific purposes to pharmacy students. As the pharmaceutical industry is becoming increasingly important around the world, proficiency in English is essential for future pharmacists to communicate effectively in the professional environment. Currently, a number of studies, both foreign and domestic authors, are devoted to teaching professionally oriented foreign language to students of technical and natural science specialties. Some publications touch upon the issues related to teaching students English in the field of medicine. The novelty of this work lies in the author’s appeal to the problem of teaching English to students of pharmaceutical university, considering it not only from the position of a teacher, but also taking into account the views and opinions of students regarding the discipline. Pharmaceutical faculties are included in the structure of medical universities in our country, and the teaching of foreign language to future pharmacists is often based on medical programmes. The paper discusses specific teaching techniques aimed at developing vocabulary, communication skills and cultural competences required for pharmaceutical practice. The need to integrate real-life scenarios and practical applications into the learning process to increase student engagement in foreign language instruction is emphasized. In addition, the challenges faced by teachers in delivering ESP courses are discussed and strategies for overcoming difficulties are suggested, ultimately better preparing pharmacy students for their role in a multilingual and multicultural health care environment.
