Problems of development of lithium-ion batteries all over the world and in Russia

Abstract

A brief analysis of the current situation in the development of lithium-ion batteries in Russia and all over the world has been carried out. The conclusion is made that Russia produces only a basis point of lithium-ion batteries in the world. It is predicted that Russian production of lithium-ion batteries may increase up to 0.2% in the world by 2030.

Mathematical model of the electrochemical battery with physical constraints of available capacity

Abstract

The article presents a universal combined model of the electrochemical battery, built on the basis of the modified Shepherd equation and the kinetic model. The proposed model provides the adequate mapping of the basic characteristics of the battery in operating mode, taking into account the physical constraints of the capacity available. The results of verification of the developed mathematical model using lead-acid and lithium-iron-phosphate batteries are presented. These results prove its higher accuracy in comparison with the basic model of MATLAB/Simulink electrochemical battery.

Nonlinear impedance spectroscopy of composite materials based on potassium~polytitanate

Abstract

Experimental studies of the electrochemical and electrophysical properties of protonated potassium polytitanate and sodium-modified pryderite were carried out using the method of nonlinear impedance spectroscopy. The frequency dependencies of the resistance of the volume of grains and grain boundaries were determined depending on the magnitude of the polarization voltage (DC) and on the value of the perturbation signal (AC).

Development of a hybrid flow battery layout based on the derivatives of quinones and anthraquinones in alkaline solutions

Abstract

Practical interest in redox flow batteries (RFB) has arisen in recent decades due to the intensive development of alternative energy (such as solar and wind) and the regulation of peak loads in industrial electrical networks. It turns out that large-scale energy storage devices to compensate for fluctuations in solar and wind energy generation and to reduce peak loads in industrial electrical networks and power supply systems for large households are more profitable when redox flow batteries are used. Firstly, they are very easily scalable, and secondly, the energy stored in such batteries is cheaper. In this work, the electrochemical behavior of some promising organic systems based on quinone, anthraquinone and their analogs in alkaline solutions was studied using cyclic voltammetry. The layouts of the flow batteries based on a hybrid redox system (anthraquinone sulfonic acid sodium salt/potassium ferrocyanide and hydroquinone sulfonic acid sodium salt/potassium ferrocyanide) were developed. The operating voltage of such RFBs was about 0.75 and 0.85 V, respectively.

Abstract

22–25 мая в Санкт-Петербургском государственном технологическом институте (Техническом университете) прошла VI Международная научно-практическая конференция «Теория и практика современных электрохимических производств», посвященная столетию со дня создания П. П. Федотьевым в 1920 году первой в России и мире кафедры технологии электрохимических производств на базе Санкт-Петербургского технологического института. Данный формат образования оказался чрезвычайно удачным, в дальнейшем в СССР было создано 18 кафедр данного направления. Практически все эти кафедры сохранились до настоящего времени.
