Topological Interlocking of Operational Switching

Golovinskii I., D’yachenko M., Londer M., Tumakov A.

Аннотация

Positions of interconnected switching devices determine the topological interlocks of switching operations at substations. The paper reviews two approaches for implementing programmable topological interlocks: offline and online. The paper highlights the disadvantages of offline and flexibility of online solutions. Anew object-topology approach to modeling of electrical networks is described. It allows applying the standard rules of topological interlocking automatically, both offline and online. An example of such automation is provided.

Development and Evaluation of a Method of Reducing Erosion Wear of Impellers

Gavrilov I., Tishchenko V., Popov V.

Аннотация

Results of numerical simulation of the process of heating of the nozzle blade of a steam turbine in order to reduce the concentration and sizes of droplets that can induce erosion are presented. Results of numerical simulation of the motion of polydisperse flow of moisture accompanied by the formation of a film on the surface of the blade are compared with experimental data. A technique of calculating heating of nozzle blades as an effective method of combatting erosion is developed. Results that show that the efficiency of heating is significantly higher than intrachannel separation are obtained.

Aleksandrovskii A., Borshch A.

Аннотация

Estimation of the maximum water flow pass-through with an exceedance probability of 0.01% through the structures of the Volga-Kama waterworks cascade is conducted, while accounting for disconnection of units and closing the spans of spillway structures. Calculations were performed with the use of dynamic curves and static curves for reservoir volumes. A comparative analysis of the obtained results was done.

Analysis of Causes, Experience in Monitoring, and Reduction of Increased Stator Vibration of Turbogenerators with Tangential Elastic Core Suspension Designs

Kuznetsov D., Polyakov F., Shandybin M., Syromyatnikov A., Galkin A., Debrinov G.

Аннотация

The increased vibration of the stators in TGV series turbogenerators with tangential elastic core suspension is examined. The existing repair options for vibration reduction are reviewed briefly. Results are presented from a theoretical study of the dependence of the dynamic properties of turbogenerator stators on the rigidity with which the core is fastened to the intermediate frame and the rigidity with which the housing is fastened to the foundation. Based on these results, an improved technology is proposed for reducing the stator core vibration. This technology is applied to a type TGV-300 turbogenerator with an unsatisfactory vibrational state of the stator. An analysis of vibration monitor data prior to the repairs and for the subsequent two years of operation showed that these actions made it possible to reduce and stabilize the vibration of the stator core and housing. The effectiveness of these measures depends substantially on their timely application.

Adaptive Current Protection Against Earth Faults in 6 – 10 kV Cable Networks

Shuin V., Dobryagina O., Shagurina E., Shadrikova T.

Аннотация

In 6 – 10 kV cable networks with isolated neutral, overcurrent protections are widely applied to earth fault protection based on components of working frequency, and in compensated cable networks based on higher harmonics of the zero-sequence current. The selectivity and stability of functioning of the former is, to a significant extent, limited by the effect on their operation of transient processes during arc earth faults, and of the latter by the instability of the level of the higher harmonics in the SPEF current, depending on the network operating mode. An adaptive method is examined for implementing the specified protections to ensure improvement of their technical capability.

An Analytic Method of Calculating the Spirals of the Turbine Pits of Hydraulic Turbines Based on Different Laws of Variation of the Average Circumferential Velocity in Cross-Sections Along the Length of the Spiral

Mikhailov I.

Аннотация

A new method of calculating the turbine spiral pits of hydraulic turbines with round cross-sections is proposed. The method generalizes techniques that are used today for determining the circular cross-sectional areas of a spiral with assigned or adopted area of its input cross-section. Any laws of variation of the average circumferential velocities in the cross-sections along the length of the spiral may be adopted in the method, which substantially expands the range of methods currently employed. By means of the method the dimensions of round and elliptical cross-sections of a spiral in the tooth region with the widely used conical scheme of coupling of its metal shell with the stator of the hydraulic turbine may be precisely determined.

Zertsalov M., Simutin A., Aleksandrov A.

Аннотация

The use of the finite element method for numerical prediction of the results of using the controlled compensation grouting method which allows compensating settlements of buildings and structures by lifting them is examined. The method is based on using two grout compositions. The first composition is used for impregnating the soil around the sleeves to create a homogeneous isotropic shell and the second for compensating settlements.

Sharygin M., Kulikov A.

Аннотация

The mass introduction of new digital relay protection (RP) devices and the communications systems between them potentially makes it possible to increase the sensitivity of relay protection due to the introduction of multidimensional measurements. Amethod is proposed for effective combination of the measurements of a set of individual fault detectors, increasing the recognizability of RP modes. The method is based on the statistical theory of detection, the Bayesian criterion of minimizing the mean risk of decision-making.

Calculation of the Thermal Regime of Gas-Insulated Electrical Transmission Lines

Vikharev A.

Аннотация

Gas-insulated transmission lines (GIL) are used for high-power extraction from electric power plants and high power delivery to large cities and industrial centers. A large part of a GIL lies above the earth’s surface. In an overhead configuration GIL are subject to climatic factors that affect their transmission, which is determined by the thermal regime. A method for calculating the thermal regime of overhead GIL is developed which takes the influence of climatic factors into account. Calculations for a specific GIL design are presented and analyzed.
