Abstract
Reasons are examined for failures of gas-insulated circuit breakers on lines with shunt reactors that provide a level of line compensation close to 100%. It is shown that using a TCSR as a linear reactor makes it possible to eliminate the reason leading to failure of the circuit breaker in line testing.
