Russian Nanotechnology Market: High-Technology Industry or Statistical Phenomenon

Ganichev N.A., Koshovets O.B.

Abstract

This article presents a medium-term forecast of the development of the Russian nanoindustry, taking into account the assumed transition of the industry from the formation stage to the investment growth stage. Problems associated with the estimated output volumes of products in the Russian nanoindustry are considered, since the trends recorded in the primary statistical data are very far from reflecting the real situation due to the imperfection of the system of statistics of nano-containing products, as well as a reduction of state funding and a decline in the intensity of research in the industry. It is concluded that a full-fledged industry has not been yet completely formed in Russia and it actually exists only as a statistical phenomenon; in addition, the project really set different objectives from the declared creation of a breakthrough high-technology branch.

Abstract

This article deals with the social, cultural, and economic contributions of universities to the life of small cities in which they are located. The Pension Age as a Factor Regulating the Deficit of the State Pension System

Solov’ev A.K.

Abstract

Contrary to the widely held attitude towards the necessity of immediately raising the retirement age, this article demonstrates the absence of demographic conditions for changing the existing regulations in granting pension insurance. The demographic factors are recognized as the basic development conditions of the state pension system; however, they have a multichannel impact on it, which requires a holistic and qualified analysis of all the relevant parameters for the governmental regulation. The pension age is viewed from the perspective of achieving the objectives of pension reform and strategic benchmarks in the long-term development of the Russian Pension system.

Models for Predicting Prices in the Moscow Residential Real Estate Market

Mikheeva O.M., Salnikov V.A.

Abstract

The paper presents the results of modeling the pricing mechanism in the residential real estate market (by using Moscow as an example). The key factors that influence the monthly and annual dynamics of real estate prices are revealed; their quantitative impact is assessed using regression analysis methods. The close dependence of the real estate price on the change in the US dollar-ruble exchange rate in a monthly model with a distributed lag is revealed. In the annual model, the best explanatory force is possessed by factors such as the dynamics of the Urals oil prices and the change in the average cost of basic materials, parts, and structures purchased by construction companies in the current year. The study also proposes a new indicator, which, is believed by the authors to approximate the change in the propensity to save in high-income groups of the population.
