Abstract

Lithium 4,4-dimethoxy-1-(perfluoroalkyl)pentane-1,3-dionates react with BF3•Et2O to give 2-methoxy-2-methyl-5-(perfluoroalkyl)furan-3(2H)-ones in high yields.
