Abstract
The availability factor is an important complex index of reliability of the restorable systems used in the problems of quality management and risk analysis. The method of estimating the variability of the availability factor has been developed based on the statistical methods with the generation of the repeated samples (resampling). The subsystems of the bucket-wheel excavator using the statistical data on the failures collected in Serbia have been used as the object of applying the method.
