The analysis of bibliological approaches to eBook studies has made it possible to identify their strong and weak points. The need for the documentological approach to studying the concept of an eBook is supported. The results of applying this approach to the eBook system are given. The characteristic of an eBook as a type of electronic document is provided. The concept of an eBook is defined.
