Peer Review Process
Peer-Review
- Authors submit articles to the editorial office of the scientific journal "Bulletin of Psychotherapy" (hereinafter referred to as "the editorial office" and "the journal," respectively) at the address: Russia, 194352, Saint Petersburg, Pridorozhnaya Alleya, d.11, tel.: (812) 923-98-01, (812) 592-35-79, in printed and electronic form (via email: vestnik-pst@yandex.ru).
- The editorial office maintains communication with authors using the addresses and email addresses provided by the authors themselves. However, the editorial office is not responsible for the accuracy of the provided addresses, including email addresses, and does not take measures to search for alternative means of communication with the authors. If an author does not respond to the editorial office's inquiries for more than 1 month, their article is withdrawn from consideration and publication.
- The review period for evaluating the suitability of an article for publication in the journal should not exceed 10 working days from the date of its receipt by the editorial office.
- The review period for the evaluation of the scientific and methodological level of the article should not exceed 2 months from the date of its receipt by the editorial office.
- Articles are published in the order of their submission to the editorial office, determined by the portfolio of articles.
- The editorial office assesses the articles to determine their compliance with the requirements for articles submitted for publication in the scientific journal.
- Within 2 working days from the date of receiving the article, the editorial office conducts a preliminary check to ensure its compliance with the established requirements for publication, as well as the thematic focus of the journal.
- The decision on the suitability of the article for publication is made independently by the editorial office.
- The decision on the suitability of the article's thematic focus for the journal is made by the chief editor of the journal or their deputy, as presented by the editorial office.
- Articles deemed by the editorial office to be not in compliance with the established requirements for publication are returned to the authors for revision within 5 working days from the date of making such a decision.
- Articles deemed by the chief editor of the journal or their deputy to be not in compliance with the thematic focus of the journal are not returned to the authors. In this case, the editorial office sends the author a motivated refusal to publish the article within 5 working days from the date of making such a decision.
- Articles deemed by the editorial office to be in compliance with the established requirements for publication are registered in the journal's record of submitted articles, with the date of receipt of the article indicated in a mandatory manner. If the article was previously sent back to the author for revision, the date of its receipt is considered to be the date of its return after revision. If the article was submitted to the editorial office of the journal immediately after the review (expertise) procedure in the editorial board, the date of its receipt is considered to be the date of the editorial board meeting at which the article was considered.
- Within 8 working days from the date of making the decision on the suitability of the article for publication, the editorial office uses software tools to check the article for compliance with author's rights and related rights, as well as for the presence of borrowings.
- As a rule, the article is published in the journal if it contains at least 80% original text. In exceptional cases, taking into account the nature of the author's borrowing of information from various sources and the presence of references to them, the editorial office, with the approval of the chief editor of the journal, may decide to publish the article with a percentage of originality of less than 80% (review articles, informational materials, etc.).
- Articles with an originality percentage of less than 80% are returned to the authors for revision within 2 working days from the date of the check for borrowings.
- The editorial office organizes the peer review of articles. Whenever possible, the opinions of the authors regarding the undesirability of specific individuals evaluating their submitted articles are taken into account. All reviewers are selected from recognized experts in the field of the reviewed materials who have published works on the subject of the reviewed article within the last 3 years. Copies of expert opinions, including motivated refusals to publish materials, are sent to the authors of the articles via the email address provided in the author's information. Upon request, the copies are also sent to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. The reviews are kept in the editorial office for 5 years.
- Articles receiving positive reviews are placed in the portfolio of articles no later than 10 working days from the date of making such a decision, which is formed by the responsible secretary of the editorial board or the scientific editor of the journal.
- The conditions for including an article in the portfolio of articles are compliance with the established requirements for publication in the journal and the presence of at least 80% original text.

Principles of Professional Ethics for the Author of Scientific Publications The author (or group of authors) bears personal responsibility for the novelty and authenticity of the results of scientific research, which implies compliance with the following principles: - the editorial office should be provided with accurate results of conducted research. Deliberately erroneous or falsified statements are unacceptable; - the submitted materials must guarantee that the research results are entirely original.
