Abstract
The angle of wetting of aluminum oxide with a high-carbon iron melt is studied as a function of temperature and time. It is found that the angle is nearly 94° in the temperature range 1200–1400°C. A preliminary study of the interface is performed using confocal and scanning electron microscopy.
