Abstract
The SMS Meer 16 MN forging press commissioned at the Electrostal Metallurgical Plant and the associated forging process developed by experts of the plant are described. The installation of this forging press is one of the retrofit stages at the plant. The forging schedule for KhN62VMYuT-VD (EP708-VD) creep-resistant alloy is designed using ForgeBase software. Mastering the hot-forming process on the forging press made it possible to optimize the production schedules and to reduce substantially the production expenditures.
