1,3,5,7-Tetrasubstituted adamantanes as frameworks in the design of assemblies of porphyrin macrocycles

摘要

A new strategy for the synthesis of adamantane-containing polyphenols of a porphyrin series has been suggested on the basis of Suzuki–Miyaura reaction between 1,3,5,7-tetrakis(4'-iodophenyl)adamantane and a monoboryl derivative of substituted porphyrin. The synthesis of this porphyrin assembly on the adamantane core followed by chemical transformations of this compound has provided a possibility to synthesize the corresponding polyphenol derivative. The latter has been used in the development of positive photoresists for nanolithography with exposure to radiation at a wavelength 13.5 nm capable of producing topological structures with a resolution of 16 nm.

New binuclear copper(II) complexes [Cu2(L)4(μ-CO3)][B12H12] (L = bipy, phen): Synthesis, structure, and magnetic properties

摘要

The processes taking place in the CuI/L/solv system (L = bipy, phen) in the presence of the [B12H12]2– anion, which exhibited the lowest reducing ability among the [BnHn]2– cluster anions (n = 6, 10, 12), were studied. The binuclear complexes [Cu2(L)4(μ-CO3)][B12H12] · n(solv) were found to be formed upon the redox reaction of (C6H5)4P[Cu[B12H12]] with a twofold excess of L or the reaction of copper(II) complex [(Cu2(phen)4(CO3)]Cl2 with [(C4H9)3NH]2[B12H12]. The Cu(II) complexes were characterized by X-ray diffraction; their EPR-spectra were studied at 295 K and the magnetic measurements were performed in the 300–2 K range. In the [Cu2(phen)4(μ-CO3)][B12H12] · DMF dimer with the anti-anti coordination of the (μ-CO3)-group, strong antiferromagnetic interactions occur between the Cu(II) atoms (Cu⋯Cu = 5.107 Å).

A new method for the synthesis of metal complexes with trans-[B20H18]2– dianion

摘要

A new method has been proposed for the synthesis of transition metal complexes with the trans-[B20H18]2– dianion from complexes with the closo-decaborate anion [B10H10]2– without changing the cationic part of the complex. A cerium(IV) salt has been used as an oxidizing agent. Complexes [NiL3][trans-B20H18] (L = Bipy, Phen) have been identified by elemental analysis and IR spectroscopy.

Experimental studies of interfacial phenomena on innovative carbon nanomaterials in aqueous electrolyte solutions

摘要

Interfacial phenomena on the surface of carbon nanomaterials (CNM) in aqueous solutions in the presence of surfactants were studied experimentally and theoretically. The hydrodynamic radius and electrokinetic potential of particles of the dispersed phase and the concentration of functional groups on the CNM surface were found. The points of zero charge of solutions of the dispersed phase were measured, and so were their shifts with varying electrolyte concentrations, which make it possible to determine the pH values at which the CNM particles are electrically neutral.
