Abstract

A test bench for performance validation of an artificial pancreas system is described. The test bench allows simulating an increase or a decrease in blood glucose by automated mixing of glucose-containing test solution. It also provides validation of the blood glucose prediction algorithm. The test bench consists of an electrical subsystem and a hydraulic subsystem that are controlled from PC user interface. It provides blood glucose measurement and prediction with an error of <5% and the accuracy of insulin dosing of 0.05 μL.
