Abstract

Infection control in nurseries is now an urgent task. The main attention in the preventive work of nursery doctors is now quite rightly focused on acute infections, which, as is known, give a large percentage of severe complications and significant mortality at an early age. The measures that are currently being carried out in many nurseries for the prevention of measles, whooping cough and diphtheria do not remain sterile, they have already saved the life and health of many children and in many cases prevented the worker from temporarily disengaging from work “because of her child's illness. Along with this work of paramount importance, measures in relation to chronic infections and in particular TBK should not, however, also escape the attention of nursery doctors. It is enough to recall the frequency of TBc activation after measles and pertussis, the significance of age and superinfection for the outcome of primary infection in a child, as well as cases of a favorable course of TBc infection even in very young children, if appropriate conditions are created, to agree that a nursery can and should play not a small role in the prevention of children's TBK.
