Abstract

The experience of treatment of 203 patients with benign tumors and tumor-like diseases of the skeleton is generalized. The largest group consisted of patients with osteoblastoclastomas (47.8%). The analysis of the results of 221 operations is given. Some so-called benign skeletal tumors (osteoblastoclastomas, chondromas) are capable of recurrence and malignancy even after the use of rather radical methods of treatment, and therefore the observation of such patients should be as long and regular as for patients with malignant tumors. The greatest number of osteoblastoclastoma recurrences was observed during exocleation.
