Abstract

The convocation of the V All-Union Congress of Medical Sections on April 25-30 this year took place 2 years after the IV Congress (February 1927) and coincided in time with the work of the XVI Congress of the All-Union Communist Party. The revolutionary enthusiasm of the upcoming grandiose socialist construction during the next five years was also reflected in the works of the medical congress. To catch up and overtake the capitalist countries-this is the task that the delegates of the national Congress faced in full growth. Everyone was inspired by the desire to take the most active part in this work, and therefore everyone understood the greeting of the Central Bureau of Medical Sections to the delegates of the congress, which stated "that it is necessary to draw the attention of the entire medical mass to the fact that at the current stage of development of the social revolution, which requires the greatest effort from the whole country to promote the pace of industrialization of the country and the socialist reorganization of agriculture planned by the party and the Soviet authorities,— more than ever, the Soviet doctor must clearly realize his tasks and devote all his strength to the implementation of the planned line both in the field of his direct work and in broad public activities."
