Abstract
On October 26, 1997, Andrei Dmitrievich Ado, our Teacher in the best sense of the word, passed away. A true teacher is not one who teaches, but one from whom one can learn. One could learn a lot from Andrei Dmitrievich - as a scientist, teacher, thinker, philosopher, he willingly gave his knowledge, thoughts, ideas to everyone who wanted to find them.
