Abstract
We investigated the content of erythrocytes, hemoglobin, pyruvic and lactic acids in erythrocytes, as well as the activity of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in 120 patients with stage II-IV gastric cancer. In 60 of them radical surgical interventions were performed, and in the remaining 60 trial laparotomies and palliative operations (respectively, 1st and 2nd groups of patients). The patients' age is from 35 to 70 years.
