Abstract

Aortic bifurcation embolism accounts for 16% of all embolisms. Its source is parietal thrombi of the left half of the heart (more often the left atrium and its ear) and, less often, atheromatosis. The so-called cross, or paradoxical, embolism has not been described in the literature.
