Abstract

Kazan Medical Journal ”has been published intermittently since 1901. Historically, it was the only medical journal in the Volga region for a long time. The medical faculty of Saratov University has existed since 1909, other medical universities in the Volga region were organized much later. And although in the twenties and thirties other medical journals and works were published, "Kazan Medical Journal" was traditionally considered the leading one in the Volga region. It is therefore natural that when Kazan scientists took the initiative to resume the publication of the journal after a break associated with the Great Patriotic War, they turned for support to scientific societies and teams of medical universities and research institutes in the Volga region.
