Abstract

The role of antimicrobial immunity in diphtheria is poorly understood.

In clinical practice, there are cases of diphtheria in children with a negative Schick reaction, the carriage of diphtheria rods with pronounced antitoxic immunity, the absence of a therapeutic effect of antidiphtheria serum on bacterial carrying, the appearance of agglutinins in the blood, etc.
