Abstract

Local anesthesia has great advantages over general anesthesia in extremely emaciated and weak subjects, obsessed with various kinds of pulmonary and cardiac suffering. The best way of such anesthesia according to the author is the Reclus method (1% cocaine), but for full success, it is necessary to eliminate the reflected phenomena of irritation of the peritoneum, which is achieved by injecting the patient with a good dose of morphine (0.01 grm).
