Preventive turn with narrow pelvis and its relation to the expectant method
Abstract
Regarding the management of childbirth, complicated by a narrow pelvis of the 2nd degree, the opinions of obstetricians differ diametrically: some prefer to provide such childbirth to natural forces, just as it is practiced with normal pelvis. They resort to one or another operative intervention when life threatens mother or fetus; other obstetricians, on the contrary, under the same conditions, that is, with narrow pelvis of the 2nd degree, apply to the rotation of the fetus without showing for the immediate end of labor.
On the choice of material for surgical sutures
Abstract
It would seem that the question of the choice of material for surgical sutures should be considered a long time ago, and that the variety of materials proposed at different times for this purpose should exclude any need to look for something else. However, the nearest consideration of this issue allows for the possibility of introducing into this depth some simplifications, which can significantly reduce the cost of threads used in surgical operations, which, of course, can have a significant value in zemstvo and rural practice, and especially in the practice of wartime.
On the issue of malignant uterine mucosal enlargements
Abstract
In the summer of 1896, I had to expel the uterus twice through the vagina due to cancer of the mucous membrane of her body. Both of these cases are of known interest because 1) cancer of the uterus, as far as I know, is considered, in contrast to cervical cancer, a phenomenon that is far from frequent; 2) both patients are young and 3) the development of the disease occurred, as they say, "in front of the eyes."
A child born without lower limbs
Abstract
Father 22 years old, mother 18 years old, both in good health. First delivery two months before due date; the baby is a boy, chronically well-fed, weighing about 6 pounds; his defecation is correct. The only abnormality in the structure of the body is the absence of the lower limbs.
To casuistic infringement of the pregnant uterus
Abstract
The clinical picture of the case is quite ordinary: a distended urinary bladder, simulating a tumor, a highly elevated vaginal part of the uterine cervix and a stretched posterior vault with a pear-shaped uterus, pregnant for 3 months.
The modern gynaecology's preoccupation with surgical treatment
Abstract
In this speech, the author draws a parallel between pre-colonial and modern surgery and assures us that surgeons had more talent back then, whereas nowadays a doctor can successfully perform both surgical and other medical activities with equal success.
Ueber Beckenneigung
Abstract
All previous studies on the inclination of the pelvis have the disadvantage that they were made either exclusively on the living or exclusively on corpses, and they paid attention either only to the inclination of the conj. ext. or only to the inclination of the conj. verae.
Hin Fall von gleichzeitiger Extraund Intrauteringravidität bei Uterus subseptus
Abstract
In a 35-year-old woman with a multiple birth, who was suspected of an intrauterine pregnancy and therefore underwent a laparotomy, a hematoma the size of a chicken egg and an uterus bicornis with a pregnancy product in the right side of her left labrum were found.
Ueber die ersten Vorgange bei der physiologischer Losung der Placenta
Abstract
In this work, the author once again stands up against Dunsan and Fehling in favour of the teaching (Baudelocque, Schultze) that the eversion of the central part of the placenta and the formation of retroplacental haemorrhage are the first phenomena of normal detachment of the child's placenta.
Beitrage zur Fraga der ectopischer Schwangers- chaft auf Grund des 14 jahrigen Materials der II geburtshulflichen und gynakologischen Klinik in Budapest
Abstract
There were 31 cases of all of these, and the majority of them were women between the ages of 20 and 30 who had already given birth more than once, and many of them had a longer or shorter interval between their last birth and their ectopic pregnancy. This leads us to believe that diseases after a long period of infertility could also have caused the abnormal pregnancy.
To complications of pregnancy and childbirth with cervical cancer
Abstract
The author recounts the history of two cases of uterine cancer he observed, in one of which the cancer was diagnosed in the seventh week of pregnancy and the uterus was successfully removed through the vagina. In the other case, although the delivery occurred at a normal term, it was a slow but completely normal delivery. Based on the literature, the author outlines the status of this disorder as a complication of pregnancy and childbirth.
Ueber bosartige Tumoren der Chorionzotten
Abstract
In the event of severe bleeding 3 months after normal delivery, Fr. removed the placental polyp, which, despite the fact that during the anatomical examination, it turned out to be completely innocent, aroused his suspicion due to its penetration deep into the muscle tissue of the uterine wall.
Ueber hie Entshehung des Hautemphysems nach Laparotomie
Abstract
As is well known, many authors attribute the origin of post-laparatomim skin emphysema to the elevation of the pelvis due to the accumulation of air in the abdominal cavity, depending on the displacement of the intestines to the chest-abdominal barrier.
Die operative Behanglung der üterusmyome durch vaginale Toxalexstirpation
Abstract
Pointing to the need for individualization, L. recognizes that for the treatment of some of them the best is: castratio per laparatomiam; for others, whose myoma exceeds the size of the child's head — miomectomia with lowering or external attachment of the stump; in the third row of cases, the most appropriate: hatching myom per vaginam; the fourth group includes cases that not only need radical help, but which, in view of weakness, should be especially spared — for such, sleeve extirpation of the uterus is the most useful.
Drei und dreissig vaginale Uterusexstirpationen nach Péan-Richelot
Abstract
The French method of using tweezers for sleeve extirpation of the uterus with labor paves its way. Not only in Germany, but even among the compatriots of the founders of this method, there are quite a few authors who assert that this method of operation is “non-surgical and technically primitive”.
Ueber den Werth und diè Technik des Probecurettements
Abstract
Until now, Gessener says there are authors who doubt the usefulness and expediency of microscopic studies for diagnostic purposes. They prefer clinical diagnostics to microscopic ones. In case of malignant neoplasms, they put digital examination of the uterine cavity higher than scraping.
Welches ist die beste Myomoperation?
Abstract
The article, the presentation and tone of which hardly fully corresponds to scientific work, treats the myomoctomy method used by the Leipzig University Gynecological Clinic and the results of 70 such operations for the period from 1892 to March 1896.
Ueber Blasengonorrhoe
Abstract
Gyon and his school are known to have denied bladder gonorrhea. They looked at the disease of the last post gonorrhoe am nor on specific cystitis, but argued that the inflammation, localized in the orificium internum urethrae and its immediate circumference, leads only to functional disorder: tenesmus, frequent urination. Only in rare cases, they said, does purulent cystitis occur as a secondary infection caused by Bacil. coli, or streptococci, because gonococci in the urine have not been proven.
From the Board of the Society of Russian Doctors in memory of N.I. Pirogov

At the last day of the VI Pirogovsky congress in Kiev, the section of obstetrics and gynecology discussed the current state of the issue of pain relief in the birth process and came to the conclusion that its dissolution is an extremely important and urgent need of our humane age.
