Abstract
The multifaceted activities of the largest Russian surgeon N.I. Pirogova had a huge impact on the formation of the St. Petersburg obstetric and gynecological school and, in general, on the development of Russian gynecology. A.M. Geselevich and E.I. Smirnov rightly point out that the words “multifaceted activity” “precisely in relation to N.I. Pirogov ... very accurately determine the features of his work.
