Abstract

Madden says that during his student years, mothers were given a lot of ergot, but now doctors are afraid of it. The author has been practicing for 26 years in a large maternity hospital in Dublin and, on the basis of his rich experience, not only denies the harm of ergot, but proves the benefits of it.
