Abstract

Having examined the phenomenon of acute anemia that occurs during the slipping of the ligature from the stump after gynecological operations, the author describes the method used by him, which prevents the danger of slipping ligatures. Prof. Smith, prior to ligation of the tumor stem, ligates the ovarian artery, easily palpable at the superior edge of the broad ligament, one inch from the pelvic wall.
