Abstract
The question touched upon by the author is interesting for institutions that have a need for newborn babies. Congenital syphilis does not always manifest itself immediately after birth, sometimes after a week, sometimes even after seven months. During this period of the latent state of the disease, a syphilitic child can easily infect a healthy wet nurse.
