Аннотация
Проведен обзор древнейшего домена жизни – архей (Archaea). Рассмотрены филогенетические отношения архей с бактериями и эукариотами, а также дана морфофизиологическая характеристика входящих в этот домен групп. Обсуждается биотехнологический потенциал архей. Рентабельными продуктами биосинтеза архей являются бактериоруберин, сквален, бактериородопсин и полярные липиды. Получение других продуктов метаболизма архей, таких как каротиноиды, водород, полигидроксиалканоаты и метан, находятся на продвинутых стадиях разработки. Хотя биологическое производство метана и водорода пока уступает в рентабельности нефтехимическим предприятиям, исследования по повышению эффективности этого процесса с привлечением архей имеют стратегическое значение. Археи также являются перспективным объектом для применения в нанотехнологиях и биоинжиниринге. Цель настоящего обзора – раскрытие биотехнологического потенциала архей, обзор основных групп этого домена и их морфофизиологических особенностей, представление обобщенного метаболитного профиля группы и спектра производств, в которых задействованы (и могут быть задействованы) эти интересные микроорганизмы.
