Abstract
the article discusses the methods of dialogue and discussion as an effective way of teaching a foreign language and a tool for practicing foreign speech. The effectiveness of the discussion method is analyzed, its advantages and disadvantages are highlighted. In modern conditions of globalization and international integration, foreign language proficiency is becoming an integral part of professional and personal life. Effective mastery of a foreign language requires not only knowledge of grammar and vocabulary, but also developed skills of intercultural communication and critical thinking. In this regard, there is a growing interest in finding innovative approaches to language teaching that contribute to the development of these competencies. One of these approaches is discussion methods, namely dialogues and discussions, which have proven their effectiveness in educational practice. These methods allow students to actively participate in the learning process, developing communication skills and the ability to think analytically. In the context of modern educational standards aimed at developing 21st century competencies, the study and implementation of debatable methods of teaching foreign languages is becoming especially relevant. The study uses an integrated approach, including the analysis of theoretical sources, the study of practical examples of the use of the method of discussions and dialogues in educational practice. The study can be considered significant, since as a result of the research, it is possible to identify the advantages and disadvantages of using information technology in the educational process. Debatable teaching methods such as dialogues and discussions are a powerful tool for learning foreign languages. The study confirmed their ability to significantly improve students' communication skills, contributing to active participation in the learning process and the development of critical thinking. The analysis showed that the use of discussion methods in educational practice not only increases student engagement, but also contributes to the formation of skills in analysis, argumentation and intercultural communication, which are key aspects in learning foreign languages. Thus, discussion methods are a powerful tool for intensifying learning, helping to create conditions for natural and productive mastery of a foreign language. They contribute not only to the improvement of language skills, but also to the development of soft skills necessary in the modern world. The introduction of such technologies makes learning more interactive, meeting the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard and the needs of the students themselves.
